 En La Lechuza recibimos voluntarios interesados para aprender sobre agricultura. La granja es gran  proyecto en construcción  donde se pueden aprender mucho y encontrar un hermoso lugar para estar.  La experiencia en la granja es una oportunidad para aprender sobre agricultura familiar y autosuficiencia en un ambiente subtropical, donde se combinana rasgos del clima templado con lo tropical.

Nos gusta que los voluntarios se queden mínimo 2 meses, pero entendemos también si no es posible para todos parar trabajos/ estudios tanto tiempo. Damos prioridad a las personas que están pensando en elegir la agricultura como su forma de vida.

Los voluntarios comparten con nosotros todas las tareas, desde el cuidado de animales, la huerta, procesamiento de productos, carpintería, construcción, etc. La experiencia en este sentido es muy integral y se va a aprender un poco de todo.

Se trabaja aprox 8 horas por día, cuando hace calor hacemos una pausa al mediodía entre 12 hasta las 15- 16 h.. así uno puede descansar , bajarse a bañar etc..

Los voluntarios tienen un departamentito con baño propio, comemos juntos y compartimos las tareas de la casa.

No somos vegetarianos, pero no comemos mucha carne, solo de nuestros animales.

Nos gusta también que recorran la provincia que está llena de hermosos lugares y pueden tomarse fines de semana largos para poder viajar.

Volunteers in the farm

We are a Swiss-Argentine couple with 2 small children making an agroecological family farm and looking for some good helping hands.  Our farm is situated in a rural area close to Obera (7km), Misiones and has a forest reserve bordering two beautiful streams with waterfalls.

Our farm is agroecological which means that we promote agro and biological diversity, farming without chemical inputs, trying to strengthen ecological cycles, ecological recycling, protecting the soil, enriching it with composts, applying green covers , etc.

The farm surface is in total 21 ha, The house and farm buildings are located in an area of 4 ha , where we have the house, chicken house, milking house and a big shed for toolworkshop and garage. Around we have pasture land and the annual crops such as maize, cassava, beans, squash, etc. . Then we have 8h of pine monoculture where we are working, cleaning and making for silvopastoril management.

We also have a native forest reserve bordering the two streams that limit our farm; there are 2 beautiful waterfalls and other places to bathe.

We have an area of ​​horticulture and fruit growing. We produce vegetables in greenhouse and in open air. We are starting with the first fruit trees and grapes.

We also have livestock, 4 milking cows, a small herd of sheep. In the chicken house live have hens, broilers, rabbits, turkeys and a pig.

We sale in the city 7 km, we deliver weekly baskets of vegetables in season , also chickens , rabbits, ducks , eggs and products made by us , ricotta , cheese , jams , bread, etc. . We’re experimenting a lot in the kitchen with our products, for our own consumption and sale.

We also have a horse to ride and we really like that volunteers go riding with him, because we do not have much time.

We can accommodate a maximum of 2 volunteers.  Volunteers have a small apartment with own bathroom, eat together and share the main domestic chores.  The work schedule is 5 full days a week, with break time to enjoy swimming in the waterfalls and rivers, hike, ride the horses, or simply relax and enjoy nature. Great if you have riding experience and/ or if you like to ride!. We work about 8 hours a day when it is hot we take a pause from 12 noon until 15 to 16 h.. so one can rest , get off to bathe etc. ..

The tasks are varied; gardening, animal care, kitchen work with the products, domestic chores etc .

We are not vegetarians, but do not eat much meat, when we eat is from our farm.

With us you can learn a lot about diversified agriculture and at the same time live in beautiful and peaceful. We like volunteers to stay at least two months. We also like that volunteer’s travel around in the province so no problem to take long weekends off every 15 days.
